[From the archives] Pretender
Written Dec 9, 2010
You're a pretender, so am I
The stars in the sky, they know
What goes on, beneath and beyond,
My caged heart and your black one.
Whispered secrets, thin veils
Of truth over lies.
You're not real, and neither am I.
The stars, they know the oldest truth,
When lies become truth, and the truth is a lie,
You can't go back.
Forward, sideways, frontways, backways,
Down down down, we fall.
A blizzard of cold, of secrets and night,
A blanket of warm, out of sight.
You're a pretender, so am I
The stars in the sky, they know
What goes on, beneath and beyond,
My caged heart and your black one.
Whispered secrets, thin veils
Of truth over lies.
You're not real, and neither am I.
The stars, they know the oldest truth,
When lies become truth, and the truth is a lie,
You can't go back.
Forward, sideways, frontways, backways,
Down down down, we fall.
A blizzard of cold, of secrets and night,
A blanket of warm, out of sight.
